Ola Might Let You Rent S1 Electric Scooters!

Bhavish Aggarwal, director of Ola Electric, is chilling in Goa and loving their S1 Pro scooter so much, that he had a bright idea! Imagine exploring a new city on an S1 Pro instead of getting stuck in traffic. 

In a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), Aggarwal wrote, “Thinking of building a rental service for our S1 products in tourist cities. Any comments where all in India you would use? Any other suggestions? The best comment gets an Ola S1X+.”

Ola Electric might be about to let you rent their zippy S1 scooters, starting with tourist cities. The Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal's head while he was on vacation in Goa and cruising around on his own S1 Pro. 

Ola Electric has mostly sold scooters directly to people. But that might change! Most scooter rentals already happen in tourist cities, and motorcycle makers (like Royal Enfield) haven't gotten involved, so Ola could be the first electric scooter company to jump in. 

They're gearing up for a launch party of the financial kind – an IPO – in the next few months, hoping to raise a cool Rs 5,500 crore. This cash injection will fuel their electric dreams: building their battery cells, and zooming into the electric car and motorcycle world. They're the first electric player to grab approval for the government's PLI scheme, like a green light for their ambitious plans.
