2023 Tata Nexon Facelift Unveiled, Launch Imminent

Tata Nexon's 2023 facelift was unveiled today, and it comes with a major design overhaul and feature upgrades over its predecessor. The new Nexon facelift it has to offer before it goes on sale on September 14.

The 2023 Tata Nexon facelift gets a major overhaul to its exterior design. The front end now features a split headlamp design, which is similar to the design of Tata's other SUVs, such as the Punch, Harrier, and Safari. The LED DRLs are also now sequential, which is a feature that was first seen on the Curvv concept car.

The headlamps are now LED and are housed in a separate casing at the bottom of the bumper. The new Nexon also offers LED fog lamps in the higher variants, which are located just below the headlamps. Tata's signature Humanity Line continues to get a gloss black treatment, but it is now slimmer than before. The upright bonnet, faux silver skid plate, and muscular wheel arches complete the SUV look.

The side profile of the new Nexon facelift is characterized by a slimmer windowline garnish, thick wheel arch cladding, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The ORVMs and C-pillar garnish are also finished in gloss black. Silver roof rails, a shark fin antenna, and an optional dual-tone paint option with a black roof are other notable design features.

The rear end of the new Nexon facelift is characterized by its new X-shaped connected LED taillamps. The Nexon lettering is also now prominently displayed on the tailgate. The reflectors are now mounted lower on the bumper, and the faux silver skid plate is now a standard feature.

The new Nexon facelift has an updated interior with more features than before. The most noticeable change is the new 2-spoke steering wheel, which has an illuminated Tata logo and capacitive controls for telephony, cruise control, volume, and other functions.

The new Nexon facelift also gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch full-color digital instrument cluster, both borrowed from the Nexon EV Max. The infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the instrument cluster can display a full view of the map along with other vital information.

The new Nexon facelift gets a unique 3-tone dashboard with a leather mid-pad, more angular AC vents, and dual-tone purple and black upholstery for the seats and door pads. It also comes with front-ventilated seats, a voice-activated sunroof, a wireless charger, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, an air purifier, a cooled glovebox and automatic climate control.

The new Tata Nexon now gets two additional transmission options: a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. These are in addition to the existing 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 120 PS at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of force between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm.

It is available with all four transmission options. The 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 115 at 3,750 revolutions per minute and 260 Newton-meters of force between 1,500 and 2,750 rpm. The new Tata Nexon will be available for bookings starting September 4, with the launch on September 14. It will rival other B2-SUVs such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Mahindra XUV300.
