Audi Q8 e-tron SUV And Sportback Launched In India, Starting At Rs 1.14 Crore

Audi has launched the Q8 e-tron in India, with the SUV priced at Rs 1.14 crore and the Sportback at Rs 1.18 crore (ex-showroom, India). Both the SUV and the Sportback are available in two trims: 50 and 55, with a maximum range of up to 600 km on the WLTP cycle.

Exterior and interior updates are subtle, but the most significant changes are under the hood. The Q8 e-tron rivals the BMW iX and Jaguar I-Pace in terms of performance and range. The Q8 e-tron has received significant updates, particularly to its battery.

The 55 variant now has a larger 114 kWh battery, up from the previous 95 kWh battery. The 50 variant, which previously had a 71 kWh battery, now has a 95 kWh battery pack. Two electric motors (one on each axle) power the battery, producing 340 horsepower in the 50 variant and 408 horsepower in the 55 variant. Both variants have the same torque of 664Nm.

Audi India has launched the Q8 e-tron SUV and Sportback in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.14 crore. The Q8 e-tron is the first all-electric SUV from Audi in India. The SUV has a 79.2-kWh battery pack that can be charged from 0 to 80% in 29 minutes using a 150-kW DC fast charger.

The Q8 e-Tron is available in two variants: 50 and 55. The Q8 e-tron will compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the Jaguar I-Pace in India. The claimed range of the Q8 e-Tron varies depending on the battery size and body style. The SUV has a maximum claimed range of 491 kilometres (305 miles) in the 50 variant and 582 kilometres (362 miles) in the 55 variant.

The Sportback has a maximum claimed range of 505 kilometres (314 miles) in the 50 variant and 600 kilometres (373 miles) in the 55 variant. Audi provides a 22 kW AC charger with the Q8 e-tron, and it can also support up to 170 kW DC fast charging. The Q8 e-tron 50 can charge from 0 to 100% in about 4.45 hours using the AC charger, while the Q8 e-tron 55 with the larger battery pack takes six hours.

Audi has given the Q8 e-tron a subtle exterior refresh, with a new mesh grille, a light bar that connects the headlights, and Audi's new 2D logo. The front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned, and the front chin is now finished in gloss black. The 20-inch alloy wheels have a new design, but they remain the same size.

The interior of the Q8 e-tron remains essentially unchanged, with the two-touchscreen setup on the centre console, a 10.1-inch screen for the infotainment system and an 8.6-inch screen for HVAC controls. It also gets an all-digital instrument cluster with Audi's Virtual Cockpit Plus, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen speaker system, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, and a 360-degree camera.

The Q8 e-tron competes with the BMW iX and Jaguar I-Pace in India. The iX is priced at Rs 1.21 crore, while the I-Pace is priced between Rs 1.20 crore and Rs 1.24 crore, ex-showroom.
