The launch of the X3 M40i, BMW has now launched its coupe version, the X4 M40i, in India. Imported as a CBU (completely built unit), the BMW X4 M40i costs Rs. 96.2 lakh (ex-showroom), which is almost Rs. 10 lakh. BMW X4 M40i Launched in India as India's Sole Coupe-Styled Compact Luxury SUV with a 6-cylinder Performance Engine
The BMW X4 M40i, India's sole coupe-styled compact luxury SUV with a 6-cylinder performance engine, has been launched at Rs. 96.2 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW X4 M40i is the only compact luxury SUV in India with a performance-oriented engine, even without the coupe style. The newly launched Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Land Rover Range Rover Velar, and Volvo XC60 all get 4-cylinder engines only.
Speaking of engines, the BMW X4 M40i is powered by the B58 3.0L TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder inline engine, which generates 360 bhp of peak power and 500 Nm of peak torque.
The BMW X4 M40i has several features, including:
xDrive all-wheel drive system
Electronically locking M Sport differential
Adaptive M suspension setup with variable damping
M Sport brakes with M-branded red brake callipers
20-inch alloy wheels
Active air stream kidney grille
50:50 weight distribution
Driving modes
Variable sport steering
BMW retains the X-ness design cues in the X4 M40i. With a less-polarizing kidney grille, the overall design is conservative and easy on the eyes. Gloss black accents on the front and rear fascias add a sporty and aggressive touch.
The taillights are different from the X3 M40i's. The interior design and layout are functional rather than flamboyant or techy, unlike some of its key rivals. However, BMW is known for its exceptional fit and finish, and the X4 M40i should be no exception.
BMW offers a motorsport atmosphere in the X4 M40i's interior with multiple carbon fibre inlays, contrasting stitching, and seat belts in BMW's M colours. The large free-standing infotainment screen and a 12.3” instrument cluster with BMW Live Cockpit Professional run on BMW OS 7.0 with 3D navigation.
Notably, the BMW X4 M40i is equipped with gesture controls, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and a 360-degree camera. It is available in two exterior colours, Brooklyn Grey and Black Sapphire, and standard leather Vernasca in Black and Tacora Red.
BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah said that the BMW X4 popularized the unique Sports Activity Coupe concept in India and became the vehicle of choice for customers with a unique style.
