Citroen India has announced the prices of the remaining variants of the C3 Aircross, following the release of the base variant price last month. The midsize SUV starts at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the entry-level You grade, with the Plus variant costing Rs. 11.34 lakh and the Max grade priced at Rs. 11.99 lakh.
The five-seater variants of the C3 Aircross are the You, Plus, and Max. Seven-seater variants are available for the Plus and Max trims, priced at Rs. 11.69 lakh and Rs. 12.34 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), respectively. Dual-tone paint is available for an additional Rs. 20,000 on the Plus and Max trims only.
The compact SUV segment is crowded with established compared to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and Volkswagen Taigun. However, the new C3 Aircross offers something unique to set itself apart: 5+2 Flexi Pro seating.
The Citroen C3 Aircross is available in two seating configurations: 5-seater and 5+2-seater. The third row seats can be removed for more luggage space. The 5-seater model offers more legroom for second-row passengers and a 444L boot, while the 5+2-seater model offers less legroom in the second row but a 511L boot. Folding the seats in either configuration yields up to 830L of luggage space.
The C3 Aircross will be produced at the company's Hosur plant in India, with a high focus on localizing components. The C3 Aircross measures 4,323mm long, 1,654mm high, and 1,796mm wide.
Citroen did not call the C3 an SUV because the C3 Aircross was already in development. The C3 Aircross is the fourth Citroen product to be launched in India, following the C3, C5 Aircross, and eC3.
It shares its exterior styling with the C3 hatchback but features a revised front grille, wider air dam, skid plate, fog lamps, split headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, blacked-out B pillars, pillar-mounted ORVMs and high-mounted stop lamp.
Inside, the C3 Aircross features a fully digital 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, internet-connected smart features accessible via the MyCitroen Connect app, and USB charging ports.
Safety features include a rearview camera, high-speed alert system, day and night IRVMs, electronic brake force distribution, tyre pressure sensors, electronic stability control and hill start assist.
An automatic transmission may be offered later. If this is the case, the C3 Aircross will be more powerful than the Grand Vitara, Elevate, and Hyryder, but less powerful than the Creta, Seltos, and Tiguan.
Citroen claims that the C3 Aircross will deliver an impressive 18.5 km/l fuel efficiency, which is even more impressive given its size. However, Citroen has not yet revealed any details about the variants that will be offered and has only released introductory prices.
