Mercedes-Maybach's Futuristic Vision 6 Concept Arrives In India

Mercedes-Benz is known for its innovative and stylish concept vehicles, such as the recent Concept CLA Class. Many of the flamboyant features of these concepts make it to production, so we are hopeful that this will be the case with the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept, which was showcased in Mumbai, India today.

Mercedes-Benz partnered with NMACC (Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre) in Mumbai to showcase the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept, a collaboration that aims to offer exclusive cultural, artistic, fashion, and luxury experiences to Mercedes-Benz customers.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept is a fully electric concept car that first debuted at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The 5.7m-long Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept exudes unmatched class with its long hood, flowing lines, and boat tail rear.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept's profile is perhaps its most breathtaking angle, with its subtle three-box shape, long hood, and stubby cabin with gullwing doors, reminiscent of the popular Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

Following the launch of the EQE SUV, Mercedes-Benz is showcasing the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept, which rides on massive 24-inch alloy wheels that fill the wheel arches to the brim.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept's interior is a futuristic oasis of luxury and technology, with multiple brushed rose metallic trims, white upholstery, a giant HUD, a wraparound cabin, intricate ambient lighting, and futuristic analogue gauges. The split-design, centrally hinged bonnet opens similarly to the gullwing doors.

Beneath the split bonnet, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept houses custom-designed luggage, umbrellas, and other accoutrements worthy of a discerning clientele. Powering this futuristic concept is an 80 kWh battery with four electric motors, one per wheel.

With a combined power output of around 740 hp and torque vectoring thanks to the four motors, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept is a force to be reckoned with. However, its range on a single charge is relatively low compared to recent production EVs. A cabriolet version of the concept also exists, but it was not on display at the showcase.

Mercedes-Benz has showcased the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept in India as a glimpse into the future of Mercedes-Maybach vehicles, particularly the Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS SUV. The production version of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept is likely to be the spiritual successor to the ultra-rare Maybach Exelero.

Mercedes-Benz India sold 12,768 units between January and September 2023, an 11% increase over the same period last year. Demand for top-end vehicles (TEVs), including the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, AMG, and EQS, grew to 22%, accounting for 25% of year-to-date sales.
