India Outclass West Indies in 1st Test After Ashwin's 12-Wicket Match-Haul
India vs West Indies Highlights, 1st Test Day 3: What a comeback for Ashwin! From being dropped in the WTC final to picking 12 wickets in the 1st Test against West Indies in Dominica. He became the first Indian bowler ever to pick five wicket hauls in both the innings of a Test in Windies.
Indian spinners made an early impact after declaring their first innings in 421 for five, leading West Indies by 271 runs. Ashwin and Jadeja reduced West Indies to 4 down before Tea and continued troubling the batters in the final session as well. The veteran offie eventually picked 7 wickest in the innings while Jadeja picked two and Mohammed Siraj took one wicket. Earlier in the day, India had lost Virat Kohli shortly after lunch to go 5 down and once Ishan Kishan scored his maiden Test run, Rohit Sharma sent the signal.
Kohli was dropped third ball of the second session before Rahkeem Cornwall scalped 76. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 171 on debut before West Indies finally sent him back with Alzarri Joseph striking gold. One brought two as Ajinkya Rahane fell cheaply for 3 as Windies kept their fight alive.
