A Flipkart customer recently received a Thomson TV instead of the Sony TV that they had ordered. The customer had ordered a Sony Bravia OLED TV worth ₹1 lakh, but they instead received a Thomson 55-inch Ultra HD 4K Smart TV worth ₹28,999.
Flipkart also offered the customer a full refund if they were not satisfied with the replacement. The customer accepted Flipkart's offer to replace the TV, and they are now awaiting the delivery of their new Sony TV. He was eagerly awaiting the Big Billion Days sale, his eyes set on a Sony TV to enjoy the ongoing ICC Men's ODI World Cup on a big screen.
Online product delivery mix-ups and misplacements are common, with customers often receiving incorrect items. In one instance, a man named Aryan claimed on social media that he received a Thomson TV instead of the Sony TV worth ₹1 lakh that he had ordered.
Eagerly awaiting Flipkart's Big Billion Days sale to buy a Sony TV to enjoy the ongoing ICC Men's ODI World Cup on a big screen, Aryan was shocked to receive a low-priced TV from another brand.
Aryan on Twitter: "I purchased a Sony TV from @Flipkart on 7th Oct, delivered on 10th Oct and Sony installation guy came on 11th Oct, he unboxed the TV and we were shocked to see a Thomson TV brand Inside Sony box with no accessories like stand, remote, etc."
Aryan further stated that he immediately connected with Flipkart's customer care and raised the issue, but it did not get resolved even after two weeks. While many people wondered why he didn't choose 'Open Box Delivery,' Aryan stated: "This was delivered by Delhivery, no open box delivery was provided."
"I immediately spoke with customer care and they asked me to upload images of the TV. I uploaded the images as instructed, but they asked me to upload them two or three more times, which I did." Despite uploading the requested images multiple times, the company hasn't processed his return request.
"They initially gave me a resolution date of October 24, but on October 20, they first showed it as resolved and then extended the date to November 1. Today, they again showed me that the issue is resolved, but my return request has not even been processed.
I have been waiting for Big Billion Days to buy a TV so that I can watch the World Cup on a good big screen, but this service from Flipkart has caused me unbearable stress.
Flipkart apologized for the man's experience with his return request, asking him to DM them with his order details to keep them confidential.
