Reliance Jio, India's leading telecommunications company, today launched Jio SpaceFiber, India's first satellite-based GigaFiber service, at the India Mobile Congress 2023 in New Delhi.
Jio SpaceFiber uses SES's O3b and O3b mPOWER satellites to deliver internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Reliance Jio is committed to providing the best possible internet service to all Indians.
Jio SpaceFiber will be available across India at highly affordable prices. It is currently available in four remote locations: Gir (Gujarat), Korba (Chhattisgarh), Nabrangpur (Odisha), and ONGC-Jorhat (Assam).
Jio already provides high-speed broadband fixed-line and wireless services to over 450 million Indian consumers. To accelerate digital inclusivity for every household in India, Jio has added JioSpaceFiber to its lineup of broadband services, alongside JioFiber and JioAirFiber.
With Jio, consumers and businesses have unprecedented access to reliable, low-latency, and high-speed internet and entertainment services, regardless of their location.
The satellite network will also provide additional capacity for mobile backhaul, further enhancing the availability and scale of Jio True5G in the remotest parts of the country.
Jio has partnered with SES to access the world's latest medium Earth orbit (MEO) satellite technology, the only MEO constellation capable of delivering truly unique gigabit, fibre-like services from space.
With access to a combination of SES's O3b and new O3b mPOWER satellites, Jio is the only company offering game-changing technology that provides scalable, affordable, and reliable broadband across all of India.
