The deadline for linking PAN and Aadhaar is fast approaching. If you have not yet linked your PAN and Aadhaar, you need to do so by June 30, 2023. If you fail to link your PAN and Aadhaar by the deadline, your PAN will become unfeasible.
An unfeasible PAN means that you will not be able to use any financial transactions, such as income tax return, opening an account in a bank, or investing in mutual funds etc. You will also not be capable to use any services that are still pending.
In addition to the financial implications, there are also other repercussions of having an inoperative PAN. For example, you may not be able to:
Get a driving license or passport
Purchase a mobile phone or landline connection
Apply for a loan
Bid for government contracts
The government has taken the linking of PAN and Aadhaar very seriously. If you fail to link your PAN and Aadhaar by the deadline, you may be subject to penalties. The penalty for linking PAN and Aadhaar after the deadline is Rs. 1,000.
So, if you have not still linked your PAN and Aadhaar, please do as soon as possible. You can link your PAN and Aadhaar online or by visiting a PAN Service Centre.
Here are some steps on how to link your PAN and Aadhaar online:
Go to the Income Tax e-filing website.
Click on the "Link Aadhaar" tab.
Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number.
Enter the captcha code.
Click on the "Link Aadhaar" button.
If you are unable to link your PAN and Aadhaar online, you can visit a PAN Service Centre. You will necessity to give your PAN and Aadhaar number, along with a copy of your Aadhaar card.
The last date for linking PAN and Aadhaar is June 30, 2023. Do not miss the deadline!
