BCCI Appoints Ajit Agarkar as chairman Of The Indian Senior Men's Selection Committee

Ajit Agarkar is the new chairman of the Indian Selection Committee of (BCCI). Agarkar takes over the chairmanship of the selection committee from Chetan Sharma, who stepped down in February after a sting operation conducted on him by an Indian channel.

Agarkar is the fifth member of the India men's selection panel, which already includes Shiv Sundar Das, Salil Ankola, Subroto Banerjee, and Sridharan Sharath.

He has played 26 tests, 191 one-day internationals and four T20 matches. He played an important inning for the Indian team, in the 2007, ICC T20 World Cup and played an important role in India's Test series win, in Australia, in 2004. He is known for his sharp mind and ability to spot talent.

The BCCI stated that Agarkar's selection was an important decision to build a strong and energetic Indian team. The BCCI said that Agarkar has experience, knowledge, and understanding of the game and will be helpful to the selection committee.
