Burj Khalifa Lights Up In Tricolour to Mark India's Independence Day

To honour India on its 77th Independence Day, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai was illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag (Tiranga) on Tuesday evening.

A video shared by the news agency ANI shows the Burj Khalifa displaying the Indian flag and playing the Indian national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana," in the background.

The video also shows the building displaying a picture of Mahatma Gandhi and a text scroll that reads, "Happy 77th Independence Day to Mother India. Long live India and UAE friendship. Har Ghar Tiranga. Jai Hind."

The 828-meter-tall skyscraper in Dubai was lit up in saffron, white, and green, the colours of the Indian flag. Some people also shared pictures and videos of the Burj Khalifa lit up in the colours of the Indian flag.

In addition to the Burj Khalifa, other buildings in Dubai were also illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag. These included the Dubai Mall, the Emirates Towers, and the Dubai International Airport.
A month ago, on July 15, 2023, the Burj Khalifa was lit up in the colours of the Indian flag to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Abu Dhabi.

A video of the event shows the skyscraper illuminated in saffron, white, and green, followed by a picture of PM Modi. The video ends with a message that reads, "Welcome, Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
