The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has extended its cutting-edge WhatsApp-based ticketing service to all lines in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), including the Gurugram Rapid Metro. The service was first launched on the Airport Express Line in May.
Since its launch on the Airport Line in May, the WhatsApp-based ticketing service has been popular with passengers for its convenience. Passengers can now simply send a message with the text "Hi" to +91 9650855800 on WhatsApp or scan the provided QR code to easily purchase metro tickets using their smartphones across the entire network.
The WhatsApp-based ticketing system offers metro travellers the convenience of purchasing tickets with a single click, from the comfort of their homes or workplaces.
He noted that WhatsApp is the preferred messaging platform for most Indians, and that buying a metro ticket will now be as easy as messaging a friend or family member.
He noted that millions of commuters rely on the Delhi Metro every day, and that Meta is thrilled to provide this ticketing experience within their WhatsApp chats.
Tickets can be booked on WhatsApp from 6am to 9pm for all lines, and from 4am to 11pm for the Airport Line. Ticket cancellations are not allowed, and a marginal convenience fee will be charged for credit/debit card transactions, but no fee for UPI-based transactions.
