North East Express Train Crashed In Bihar, Killing 4 And Injuring Nearly 100

At least 12 coaches of the North-East Superfast train crashed at Raghunathpur railway station in Bihar's Buxar district on Wednesday. Two to three AC coaches have retracted and fallen on the track.

Several coaches of the North-East Express train, which was travelling from Delhi to Kamakhya, crashed near Raghunathpur station in Bihar's Danapur division at 9:35 PM on Wednesday, according to a railway official quoted by ANI.

The train derailed near Raghunathpur station, Bihar, at 9:35 PM on Wednesday, en route to Kamakhya near Guwahati in Assam.

However, the work has already begun," said Birendra Kumar, CPRO, East Central Railway. He added that the Railways is yet to set the damage caused by the incident, but the primary objective is to restore train movement on both tracks.

The train crash caused a mess at the scene, damaging several pillars, electrical poles, signal posts, and both tracks. Many trains on the New Delhi-Howrah main line were delayed, stopping at multiple points.

The railway is working to reform traffic on the line after making necessary repairs. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, but an inquiry team is being formed to investigate. Senior officials, including the Danapur DRM, have been rushed to the scene.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav ordered Buxar and Arrah officials to make proper arrangements for the injured and send concerned officers to the incident site immediately.

Medical teams have been sent and the rescue operation is underway. Police and locals are working together to rescue passengers trapped in the crashed coaches.
