Radhikaraje Gaekwad: The Woman Who Lives In India's Largest Residence

Laxmi Vilas Palace is the largest private residence in the world. It is located in Gujarat, India, and is owned by the Gaekwad family, the former rulers of Baroda.

The palace is four times larger than Buckingham Palace, and the local people still hold the royal family in high esteem. The current head of the royal family is HRH Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, who is married to Radhikaraje Gaekwad. It is four times larger than Buckingham Palace, which has an area of 828,821 square feet.

Radhikaraje Gaekwad was born on July 19, 1978, in the Wankaner state of Gujarat, India. Her father, Dr MK Ranjitsinh Jhala, gave up his royal title to become an IAS officer.

Radhikaraje Gaekwad is a well-educated woman with a master's degree in Indian History from Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University. Samarjit Singh Gaekwad became the Maharaja of Baroda in 2012.
