A local YouTuber from Uttar Pradesh Found Dead
A YouTube content creator from Uttar Pradesh passed away under unclear circumstances at her in-laws' residence in the state's Sant Kabir Nagar town on Wednesday evening. The body of 30-year-old Malti Chauhan, known for her YouTube channel, was discovered hanging at her in-laws' home in Kali Jagdishpur village under the jurisdiction of Mahuli police station on Thursday morning.
Malti Chauhan's 'desi '-style videos garnered her a significant following on YouTube. She often collaborated with her husband, Vishnu Chauhan, in creating these clips. However, following Malti's untimely and mysterious passing, Vishnu has come under the scrutiny of police investigators.
Malti's father, Deepchand, has raised concerns regarding his son-in-law's involvement in her passing and has filed a formal complaint with the police. In his complaint, Deepchand states that Vishnu had brought Malti to his residence on the day preceding her demise.
Malti Chauhan's family has alleged that Vishnu was involved in an extramarital affair with a woman named Radhika, which caused significant strain in their relationship. They further claimed that Malti had faced persistent harassment from her in-laws and husband over dowry payments and that the couple's frequent arguments were often triggered by Vishnu's infidelity. In response to the complaint, police initiated an investigation and subsequently detained Vishnu for questioning.
In a conflicting statement, Vishnu claimed that he had arranged Malti's marriage to her alleged lover, Arjun, a few months prior. Following this, Malti and Vishnu decided to live separately. Just hours before her death, Malti had uploaded a video on her official YouTube channel, addressing her ongoing marital struggles with Vishnu and indicating her plans to visit her in-laws' residence.
Malti Chauhan was a rising YouTube star known for her unique and quirky 'desi' style of videos. Her popularity flew in a short period, amassing over 661 thousand subscribers on her main YouTube channel.
