Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the new collaboration feature for carousel posts in a broadcast on the platform. Users can add an "Add to post" button in the bottom left corner of a carousel post to allow others to add their photos and videos.
The original poster must approve any added photos or videos before they are published. It is unclear if Instagram will increase the current limit of 10 posts per carousel or if each post will show who added the photo or video, as with the existing collaboration posts feature.
Instagram already has a collaboration feature that lets users co-author posts with other users. If you add your followers as collaborators when creating a post, they'll have the option to share it on their profile as well.
Since the start of the year, Instagram has added a slew of new collaborative features, including the ability to add music to carousels, join creators with the "Add Yours" sticker, and save reels and photos with friends.
