Akshay Kumar has postponed the release of the first trailer of his much-anticipated film, OMG 2, out of respect for the late art director Nitin Desai. Desai had worked on the first film in the franchise and Kumar said he wanted to delay the trailer so that Desai's family could have time to grieve.
On Wednesday Akshay Kumar tweeted to express his sadness at the news of Nitin Desai's death. Desai was a well-respected art director who had worked on many of Kumar's films. He was postponing the release of the trailer for OMG 2 out of respect for Desai's family and friends. The trailer will now be released on Thursday at 11 am.
Nitin Desai, the art director who created sets for blockbuster films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Lagaan, has died by suicide, according to Mumbai Police. His body was found at his studio in Mumbai. The sequel, directed by Amit Rai, features Pankaj Tripathi as a Shiva devotee while Yami Gautam essays the role of a lawyer.
It is also set for a major box-office clash with Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, which releases on the same day. Over the past few days, there have been rumours that OMG 2 has faced trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
