Zoya Akhtar has revealed that the second season of her hit web series Made in Heaven will continue to focus on women and the LGBTQ. The new season will explore these issues through our wedding planners, Tara Khanna and Karan Mehra, who are themselves diverse individuals.
"We wanted to explore the lives of women in more detail in the second season," Zoya Akhtar said in an interview. "We also wanted to tell stories about the LGBTQ community".
The critically-acclaimed web series Made in Heaven returns for a seven-episode second season on Amazon Prime Video on August 10, 2023. The production company was founded by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
The first season of Made in Heaven, which premiered in 2019, followed the lives of two wedding planners, Tara and Karan, as they handle the high-threat world of Mumbai's wedding industry. The show was praised for its stylish production values, funny dialogue and subtle relationships.
