Kangana Ranaut's new film, Tejas, failed at the box office on its opening day, with insufficient earnings of Rs 1 crore. The film's occupancy rate in the Hindi-speaking market was a mere 5.57% until the afternoon shows.
Kangana Ranaut's latest film, Tejas, has failed to take off at the box office, despite its promising trailer and Kangana's star power. The film, which tells the story of an Air Force pilot who rescues an Indian spy held captive in Pakistan, has only sold 3,000 tickets across PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis theatres on its opening day.
If Tejas fails to pick up pace over the weekend, it will be Kangana Ranaut's fifth consecutive flop. Her last four theatrical releases - Dhaakad (2022), Thalaivii (2021), Panga (2020), and Judgementall Hai Kya (2019) - all failed to impress at the box office. Only her historical drama, Manikarnika (2019), and her sequel to Chandramukhi, which earned about Rs 40 crore, were successful.
In her review, she noted that the film is so focused on keeping Kangana Ranaut centre stage that everyone else is reduced to mere satellites.
