Salman Khan's Tiger 3 ignites advance bookings with a thunderous start, selling over 1.42 lakh tickets and grossing Rs 4.2 crore on day one.
Tiger 3's Hindi 2D shows dominated advance bookings, selling 1,38,804 tickets across 7,231 shows, while Hindi IMAX 2D shows sold 2,713 tickets across 109 shows. However, Tiger 3's Hindi 4DX shows sold only 513 tickets across 52 shows.
The film's advance bookings were overwhelmed by West Bengal, Gujrat, Kerala, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Maharashtra alone contributed 1.47 crore.
In addition, the film sold over 56,100 tickets in two major multiplex chains on Sunday. PVR Inox outlets sold 47,000 tickets and Cinepolis sold 9,100 tickets, taking the total tickets sold to 56,100.
With impressive advance booking figures, the film is poised for a strong box office run. Film critic and trade analyst Sumit Kadel predicts a grand opening with net box office collections reaching around Rs 40 crore.
Kadel further predicted that ticket demand is expected to surge from Monday onwards, potentially prompting theatres to schedule midnight shows to cater to the overwhelming audience.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3, War, and Pathaan. It is the fifth instalment of Yash Raj Films' (YRF) Spy Universe, which comprises films like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, and Pathaan.
The film stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles as Tiger and Zoya, respectively. Other cast members include Emraan Hashmi, Ranvir Shorey, Vishal Jethwa, Riddhi Dogra, and Gavie Chahal.
