Salman Khan's Tiger 3 cements its box office dominance, setting two new records on just its third day of release. The adrenaline-fueled action-thriller, a cornerstone of the YRF Spy Universe, raked in an estimated Rs 43.5 crore on Tuesday, following an impressive Rs 100 crore haul across its opening two days.
Tiger 3's net domestic total has soared to Rs 148 crore, according to YRF figures. This marks Salman's 17th film to surpass the coveted Rs 100 crore nett mark, simultaneously securing his biggest-ever opening weekend.
Salman Khan's Tiger 3 has broken box office records, setting new benchmarks with its exceptional opening weekend. The film fought traditional release norms by opening on a Sunday, overlapping with the Diwali holiday, and garnered a staggering Rs 44 crore. Its success continued into the following day, with a remarkable growth to Rs 58 crore on day two.
Globally, Tiger 3 has collected over Rs 220 crore, placing it on a revolution to surpass Ek Tha Tiger's global gross of Rs 330 crore achieved a decade ago. In comparison, 2017's Tiger Zinda Hai achieved a remarkable Rs 565 crore.
On day three, Tiger 3's Hindi-language occupancy stood at 33%, while the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions struggled with occupancy rates below 20%. While Tiger 3 has not replicated the immense popularity of Shah Rukh Khan's two 2023 blockbusters, Pathaan and Jawan, both of which surpassed the Rs 1000 crore global milestone, Salman Khan remains a challenging force at the box office.
Despite coming close to reaching this coveted benchmark, he has yet to surpass it. After reaching the lifetime haul of the first Tiger film, Tiger 3 will set its sights on surpassing Hrithik Roshan's War, which grossed Rs 475 crore globally.
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Tiger 3, directed by Maneesh Sharma, marks the fifth part in YRF's interconnected spy universe, also containing Pathaan and War. Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan make cameos in Tiger 3, paving the way for future parts. War 2 is currently in production under the helm of Ayan Mukerji, while a Tiger vs. Pathaan film has been teased with director Siddharth Anand at the helm.
