Responding to strong demand from Indian consumers, Google has quietly introduced a 256GB storage option for its flagship Pixel 8 Pro smartphone, a month after its initial launch.
Google's most expensive phone in India, the Pixel 8 Pro, now offers a 256GB storage option, available exclusively in Obsidian colour and priced at Rs 1,13,999.
Irrespective of the storage option, all Pixel 8 Pro variants come equipped with 12GB of RAM. Google is sweetening the deal on the Pixel 8 Pro with enticing offers, including a Rs 9,000 discount upon purchase using an SBI credit card and an additional Rs 4,000 exchange bonus.
Google has addressed a critical omission by introducing a 256GB storage variant of the Pixel 8 Pro in India, albeit at the expense of early adopters who were not informed of this option during the pre-order period. This decision is particularly surprising given that the more affordable Pixel 8 already offered this higher storage capacity.
Google unveiled its flagship Pixel 8 series globally and in India last month, alongside the Google Pixel Watch 2. The Pixel 8 base model costs Rs. 75,999 in India, with the 256GB variant priced at Rs. 82,999. Google plans to commence production of the Pixel 8 in India in 2024.
