OnePlus Open Foldable Phone: India Launch On October 19 - Everything We Know

Tech enthusiasts are excited about the OnePlus Open launch, and they are eager to see how the device challenges the foldable market.

Chinese tech giant OnePlus will unveil its first foldable flagship phone, the OnePlus Open, on October 19. The global launch event will take place in Mumbai, India, and will be live-streamed on X and YouTube.

The OnePlus Open is expected to compete with Samsung's flagship foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Leaked information suggests a price range of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.2 lakh in India, making it more affordable than the Fold 5, but official confirmation is still pending.

The OnePlus Open will be powered by Qualcomm's top-tier Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM. It is expected to feature a 2K AMOLED inner display and a high-quality outer screen, both with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

OnePlus is expected to continue its partnership with Hasselblad for camera technology in the OnePlus Open. The phone is rumoured to have a sizable circular camera module with Hasselblad-backed cameras. Both the cover and main displays are also said to have punch-hole cameras.

The OnePlus Open will run on OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 and feature a robust 4,800mAh battery with rapid 100W fast charging.
