Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings : MS Dhoni Smashes Batters Following Third Consecutive Defeat

In the first match of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans triumphed over Chennai Super Kings with a 5 wicket victory.

This marked the third consecutive defeat for CSK in the Indian Premier League.

The match took place on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans proved to be too much for the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings.

After winning the toss, GT asked CSK to bat first on a great batting pitch. However, only Ruturaj Gaikwad (92 off 50) was able to make a significant contribution to the team's score, resulting in a total of 178 for 7 in 20 overs.

Following the defeat, CSK captain MS Dhoni expressed disappointment with his team's batting performance.

He stated that they were 15 to 20 runs short and could have batted better in the middle overs.

He also acknowledged that the young players, including Raj Hangargekar, have potential and will improve with time.

Dhoni himself played his first game in a year and scored 14 off 7 balls, including one six and four fours.

He will be hoping for his team to secure their first points in the next match, which is against KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April.
