IPL Match 1000: MI Vs RR Key Highlights

The 1000th IPL match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was nothing short of a spectacular affair. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a special innings of 124 off 62 balls, propelling RR to an imposing 212/7.

Chasing the daunting target, MI got off to a shaky start, losing skipper Rohit Sharma in the second over. MI then lost Green and Yadav in quick succession, leaving them needing 57 runs off the last four overs. However, Tim David had other ideas, as he launched an incredible assault on the RR bowlers. He hit three sixes in a row off the last over, bowled by Jason Holder, to help MI clinch a thrilling victory. David remained unbeaten on 45 off 14 balls, while Tilak Varma remained not out on 29 off 21 balls.

Earlier in the match, RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat. Jaiswal provided the fireworks at the start, before Jos Buttler played a good innings of 41 off 26 balls. However, it was Jaiswal's innings that stole the show, as he hit 12 fours and 6 sixes to score his maiden IPL century. MI made three changes to their starting XI, bringing in Jofra Archer, Tilak Varma, and Arshad Khan, while RR made one change, with Trent Boult replacing Adam Zampa.
